Work Experience Week for our Y12 students: can you help?

Our Year 12 students are starting to organise their placements for Work Experience Week in Oct 2022. Could you offer a placement to our students in Hong Kong and give them some real-world experience?

As part of the Global Outlook Week taking place between 10 October to 14 October 2022, our Year 12 students will be seeking to arrange their own work experience. Our students can undertake a wide variety of different tasks - in the past, students have worked in everything from animation studios, aviation and gourmet chocolatiers! Placements in Law, Finance, Medicine and Design are always very popular areas, too.

This work experience week will provide a valuable opportunity to put what they have learned in Global Citizenship and the Mini-MBA into practice and to enrich their personal profile as they look ahead to making university applications. We strongly believe that now more than ever, our students would immensely benefit from this real life exposure and interaction after a two-year break in the programme because of COVID.

We are not prescriptive about the work they do, but we do ask that they be reasonably fully employed, that the tasks are clearly explained and that there is an adequate level of supervision. It would also be helpful if there is some degree of challenge, interest and variety in the tasks assigned to them.

If you can offer our students a place, please fill in the form Year 12 Work Experience Week (Oct 2022) to indicate your interest in lending your support. We are hoping to re-connect with our long term partners and of course making new friends. If you have any questions or ideas, please contact Ms Maryann Lee, Higher Education and Careers Guidance Counsellor at: maryannlee@kellettschool.com.  She would love to hear from you, even if you can't offer a placement this time round.
