OK Postcards |
Sixth Form Leavers, Class of 2018, UK OKs, Medical group, Mentors Group, Imperial College London |
Dear OKs,
I am currently in my 4th year of Medicine at Hull York Medical School. For the academic year of 2020-21 I intercalated (additional year on top of medical studies) in Biomedical Engineering at Imperial. As part of my course I have rotated between Hull, York, and Scunthorpe, next I am off to Grimsby, Scarborough, and Middlesbrough. Hull is a beautiful city that unfairly gets a bad reputation. Low cost of living, great food, and lovely people has made 'ull a place I love. Five years into my six year degree I admit the joys of student life have thoroughly worn off, however despite plenty of bad days, I am finding studying medicine incredibly rewarding.
Mr Wood, Former Kellett Design & Technology (DT) teacher once questioned my decision to study medicine, as I had shown a passion for DT. In hindsight he might have been right, but I'll finish this degree before I entertain that thought for too long.
