Cameron (OK 2001-15) was in the first Y12 when KLB opened in 2013 and he was the first student to go all the way through: from Reception in PFL, to being a member of Kellett’s Y13.
What's your earliest Kellett memory?
It would probably be the covered area in the Pok Fu Lam campus and playing there with classmates
What do you remember about KLB, the opening of the campus, and the move from SKW?
I remember being pretty floored by how nice it was, from the Skypitch to the atrium to the pool, etc. (although regrettably, I don't think I ever used the pool). SKW was fun but it was a definitely welcome step up when we moved to KLB!
Any life lessons you learned from Kellett?
There are probably too many to count given how long I was there! if it's not too cheesy, I'd say be good to other people
Do you feel your "Love of learning and confidence for life" has stayed with you?
I'd say, yes, I studied English Literature at University after loving it at school and the interest and fascination I had with written language never really went anywhere. Outside of university it also prompted me to self-teach myself a number of instruments (not very well, mind) like the guitar, bass, and keyboard
One piece of advice you might give to your younger self?
Open yourself up to the world and keep hunting for new experiences.
What was your degree and what’s your current role?
BA English Literature and Drama at the University of Manchester. Currently, I am a Sales Development Representative for a cybersecurity company
Where you would like to be in 10 years? Remember it’s 10 years since we moved to KLB
In 10 years' time, I'll be 35! I'd have liked to have explored living in a few different countries by then but probably settling down in the UK, somewhere green, coastal, and rural - continuing to work for a software company as remote work is so common in the industry & there's countless great opportunities to be had there.
